Police: Bank robber left cash behind

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said a bank robber's efforts failed to bring him a profit when he left the money behind.

Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood said the man robbed the TD Bank in Daytona Beach Wednesday afternoon, but he fled the bank without the money surrendered to him by the teller, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported Friday.

Chitwood said it was unclear whether the suspect, who was not caught, left the money at the teller's counter or elsewhere in the bank. It was also unclear whether the cash had been left behind intentionally.
