TREBBIN, Germany, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Officials in a German town said they are having difficulty choosing a location for the country's third designated trail for naked rambling.
Town officials in Trebbin, Brandenburg, announced last year they wanted to designate a route for hikers to walk in the nude, but the town's culture committee said Thursday the task of finding a suitable location for the country's third nude rambling trail is proving difficult, TheLocal.de reported Friday.
The Maerkische Allgemeine newspaper reported town officials announced Thursday an official path selection might not be made until 2015.
The officials said one potential location for the path was ruled out after the culture committee found it attracts about 600 clothed hikers on a fair-weather weekend, leading officials to worry about the possibility of visitors being put off by the path going nude friendly.
Ulfert Hanschur, a committee member who organized the nude hike in the area that inspired the trail plans, said he and other officials want the chosen area to be permanently nude-friendly instead of just designated times.
"Setting fixed times is not a good idea, it'll fizzle out," he told Maerkische Allgemeine.
