Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe CHICAGO, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Kraft Foods in Chicago warned Velveeta fans Tuesday they may have a hard time finding the Super Bowl staple in the weeks leading up to the big Feb. 2 game. "Given the incredible popularity of Velveeta this time of year, it is possible consumers may not be able to find their favorite product on store shelves over the next couple of weeks," Kraft spokeswoman Jody Moore told Ad Age. "Our retail customers are aware of the situation and we expect it to be a short-term issue." Advertisement The readily meltable blocks of cheese combined with green chiles and canned tomatoes are a favorite served by fans of many sports, especially the NFL. "Any issues with availability are much more noticeable given the seasonal demand," Kraft said in a statement.
