The main event, at the Scheveningen resort in The Hague, featured about 10,000 people running into the North Sea Wednesday. Dozens of smaller events around the country brought the total number of cold water daredevils to about 46,000, DutchNews.nl reported Thursday. Advertisement Nos television reported the temperature of the North Sea water at Scheveningen Jan. 1 was a "relatively warm" 45.5 degrees.
