HONOLULU, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- A Hawaii woman whose name was too long to fit on her ID said she has been issued replacement cards with her entire moniker.

Janice Lynn Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele of Big Island said her 36-character last name was too long for Hawaii's old-style state ID cards and driver's licenses, which only allotted 35 characters for last names, but she has now been issued new ID cards bearing her entire name, KHON-TV, Honolulu, reported Tuesday.

"My state ID and my driver now say my whole name, which is Janice Lynn Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele," she said.

Officials told KHON-TV the ID cards can now fit last names of as many as 40 characters in length.
