The company said it hired Iceculture, a world-renowned team of ice sculptors responsible for creations including an ice Disney castle in New York's Times Square, to use nearly 11,000 pounds of ice to create the body of a truck that was set atop the skeletal frame of a GM pickup trick, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Tuesday. The company said video of the truck, which includes intricate ice details including a license plate, will be edited into a commercial to be shown in 2014. Canadian Tire said it has submitted the truck to Guinness World Records for recognition as first self-propelled ice truck to take a drive.
