MIAMI, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- The 32nd annual King Mango Strut, a tongue-in-cheek Florida holiday parade, featured a Toronto Mayor Rob Ford impersonator as grand marshal.

The impersonator, playing drunk and taking swigs from a bottle of Hennessy cognac, led off the parade Sunday in Miami's Coconut Grove neighborhood, making way for parade participants dressed as 2013 headline makers, including twerking pop singer Miley Cyrus and reality TV's Kardashian sisters, the Miami Herald reported Monday.

The parade also included satirical depictions of politicians, including Republican Florida Gov. Rick Scott and Democratic Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis, who gained fame for her filibuster aimed at heading off restrictive abortion legislation.

"We have the same kind of audience that the 'Daily Show,' 'Colbert Report' or 'SNL' would appeal to," King Mango Strut President Mike Lucas said. "We don't dumb down for anybody."

Other groups participating in the parade included members of high-IQ society MENSA making fun of the NSA spying scandal with signs featuring slogans such as, "We know if you've been bad or good," and a group calling itself the Narcissistic Selfie Association marching in the parade while constantly taking self-portraits with their cellphones.
