Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe LAFAYETTE, La., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Authorities in Louisiana said a man dressed like the main character in the Christmas movie "Elf" was arrested on a drunken driving charge. The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office said Brandon Touchet, 34, of Lafayette, was pulled over about 3 a.m. Sunday and deputies determined he smelled of booze, was slurring his speech and appeared unsteady on his feet, the Smoking Gun website reported Tuesday. Advertisement Touchet, who admitted to speeding and consuming alcoholic beverages," submitted to a breath test and was found to have a blood-alcohol content of 0.124, well over the legal limit of 0.08. Touchet was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving at an excessive speed. The mug shot taken when Touchet arrived at the jail showed the suspect was dressed in a green elf costume reminiscent of the one worn by Will Ferrell in the 2003 film "Elf." Touchet was released after posting $1,500 bond.
