The parents, who asked not to be identified, said their son, a freshman at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, had his usual enthusiastic Christmas spirit taken from him when a teacher told him his Santa Claus costume was incorrect because Santa is supposed to be white, KOAT-TV, Albuquerque, reported Monday. Advertisement "[Santa Claus is] Asian, he's Mexican, he's German, whatever country and whatever society that celebrates Christmas like we do. In our family, you got Miss Claus, who is black and Santa Claus is white. I just want him to be back to the Christopher that was bouncing off the walls about Christmas," one of the boy's parents said. The school district said the teacher admitted to making a "stupid" mistake and has been disciplined. The details of the discipline were not released.
