MILLERVILLE, Md., Dec. 12 (UPI) -- A volunteer at a Maryland Christmas tree lot is attempting to find the owner of a diamond ring apparently left behind by a customer.

Shirley Grande, a volunteer at the Anne Arundel Alarmers' Christmas Tree Fundraiser in Millerville, said she discovered the valuable ring while raking up debris at the lot, WJZ-TV, Baltimore, reported Thursday.

"Probably somebody had taken their gloves off to look at the tree or something and it had fallen off," Grande said.

"It definitely is a love ring. It's an intertwined ring so I would assume it meant something to somebody," she said.

Grande said she is hoping names engraved on the outside of the ring will help identify its owner.
