Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Researchers in Australia were flummoxed when one of their cameras, set up in the hopes of catching footage of crocodiles, went missing.

Weeks later, the camera turned up more than 100 km away, and the footage solved the mystery of where the camera had gone -- and the delightful way it got there.

"A juevenile sea eagle came and took-off with it and made three [recordings of] 30 second footage," said Roneil Skeen of the Gooniyandi Indigenous Rangers, who set the camera up near the Margaret River in Kimberley.

In the recording, the eagle's flapping wing is visible as the camera soars above the ground, then later, the curious eagle pecks at the lens.

"It was pretty cool," Skeen said.
