GREEN BAY, Wis., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- A couple from Wisconsin say they named their newborn after injured Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers after their son was born with a broken collarbone.

Aaron Rodger Dryer was born prematurely Sunday to parents Kyle Dryer and Kristal Tyczkowski, Green Bay (Wis.) Press-Gazette Media reported.

Tyczkowski said Dryer suggested the name after nurses discovered the newborn had a broken left collarbone -- the same injury Rodgers suffered on Nov. 4 in a game against the Chicago Bears.

"I said, 'That's not a bad name,'" Tyczkowski said, adding that they had not yet decided on a name for the boy.

"That's when we knew."

Dr. Robert Moyer, who delivered Aaron at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay, said collarbone injuries are common in newborns and that they generally heal completely in a couple of weeks.

Moyer added that he was happy to hear the boy had been named after the quarterback.

"That fit him perfectly," Moyer said of the baby. "He was meant to be Aaron Rodgers."
