ROUND ROCK, Texas, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Texas-based computer manufacturer Dell said it is offering free replacements for customers who complain their Latitude 6430u ultrabooks smell like cat urine.

Customers have been taking to Dell's website since June to post complaints about the laptop's feline-esque odor, which users said seems to be coming from the keyboard, ABC News reported Thursday.

"The machine is great, but it smells as if it was assembled near a tomcat's litter box. It is truly awful! It seems to be coming from the keyboard," one user posted.

The Guardian reported Dell has been sending out free replacements to customers whose laptops emit the odor, but not all of the initial replacements were free of the problem.

"I just received my 5th replacement 6430u yesterday and the smell is still there," one customer posted.

Dell said it has found the source of the issue in the manufacturing process and corrected laptops were being made starting in October.

"If you order an E6430u now, it will not have the issue," Dell employee SteveB posted.
