MARY, England, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- A British teenager apologized for the noise from a party that garnered complaints from neighbors up to three miles away. Jessica Kennaway, 18, daughter of millionaire John-Michael Kennaway, threw an all-night party at the centuries-old Escot House near Ottery St. Mary, England. "I warned all our neighbors about the party and they all seemed fine with it. We put the speakers in the direction of the valley to minimize the volume," the teenager said. She said the party, which had about 60 guests and a DJ, was to celebrate a friend's 18th birthday and to celebrate her own plans to travel for nine months. "It's the first time I've had a big party here. We had no idea how much the music had travelled -- if we had known we would have never let the music level get so loud," Kennaway said. "As soon as the police arrived we turned the music right down. I've been back to apologize to some of the farmers and neighbors who were affected by the noise as I didn't mean to disturb anyone."
