CLOVERDALE, Ind., Oct. 17 (UPI) -- A pair of identical twins in Indiana said they decided to mark their 11th birthday by performing 11 acts of kindness.

Jordan and Caden Opiela of Cloverdale said they spoke to their mother and decided to spend the money that would have gone toward their party on performing 11 acts of kindness, one of each year of their lives, WRTV, Indianapolis, reported Thursday.

The boys said their acts of kindness included taking balloons to the hospital, depositing money in random bank accounts, making a payment on a random person's behalf at a car lot, purchasing flowers for their teachers and paying for other people's orders at drive-through windows.

The boys' mother, Heather Hillman, said she is very proud of her sons.

"It is amazing, and to me, it makes me less worried about them when they grow up. I feel like they are doing the right thing now at 11, that it's not going to be no problem when they get to be men," Hillman said.

Jordan and Caden said they are hoping to make the acts of kindness an annual birthday tradition.
