ST. LOUIS, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- The man who dressed as "Rally Bear" and danced atop the St. Louis Cardinals' dugout to encourage the Los Angeles Dodgers has been banned from Dodger Stadium.

Mark Monninger, 50, donned his unofficial mascot costume during Monday's game and performed a short dance routine before being escorted out of the stadium by security. He signed a piece of paper promising not to return to the venue for six months, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Monninger said his only aim was to get the crowd excited and show the team and its fans his skills at the art of being a costumed mascot.

"I'm not trying to promote any organization or cause ... . I just want to show fans this is what is out there, this is someone that can entertain you," he said.

The Dodgers went on to beat the Cardinals 3-0.
