Police: Drunken driving suspect fled to finish his Big Mac

BRUNSWICK, Ohio, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Police in Ohio said a drunken driving suspect who led officers on a short chase said he fled the traffic stop so he could finish his McDonald's Big Mac.

The Brunswick Police Department said officers responding to a report of a reckless driver spotted Randall Miller, 31, leaving McDonald's in his silver sport-utility vehicle around 1 a.m. Sept. 28 and he failed to pull over when police attempted a traffic stop, The Smoking Gun reported Wednesday.

Officer Clifford Smith wrote in his report that Miller eventually pulled over and appeared to be intoxicated. Smith said Miller smelled of alcohol and his speech was slurred.

Smith said Miller told him he fled the traffic stop because he was "was too drunk and he just wanted to eat his Big Mac before he stopped."

Miller's blood alcohol content was measured at three times the legal limit for driving and he was arrested on charges including drunk driving and fleeing an officer.
