Northampton clown roams streets, scares residents

A scary clown with red hair and white face paint has been stalking the streets of Northampton, England, and residents are creeped out.

The "terrifying" clown has popped up in several locations, sometimes holding balloons, and the town's residents have taken to social media using the Twitter hashtag #northamptonclown.

A Facebook page called "Spot Northampton's Clown" already has more than 30,000 likes since it went live Friday.

In most cases, the clown is silently scary, though he apparently knocked on one resident's door offering to paint the window sills -- despite having no painting equipment.
