61 youths facing charges for Department of Justice facility riot

BARTOW, Fla., Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Florida authorities said 61 juveniles are facing charges for a riot that started as a disagreement about cups of noodles.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said the teenagers are facing charges including riot, burglary, arson, felony criminal mischief and grand theft stemming from the August incident at the Department of Juvenile Justice's Avon Park Youth Academy, WFTS-TV, Tampa, Fla., reported Friday.

The Aug. 17 riot began as an argument about a reneged basketball bet concerning three cups of noodles, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
