The soup became even more popular when a Japanese popsicle brand introduced a corn potage flavor, which was such a huge hit it regularly sold out.
KFC Japan has chosen to go the opposite direction with the soup, releasing a deep-fried corn potage fritter, which will be sold starting Thursday, no spoon required.
“We bread the corn potage and cook it to a crisp,” explained the fast food giant. The Kentucky-fried soup is said to stay soft and creamy on the inside but crispy on the outside.
