Escaped python found in owner's garage

TIGARD, Ore., Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Police in Oregon said a 5-foot python reported missing was discovered later the same day in its owner's garage.

Tigard police spokesman Jim Wolf said an officer spotted a man ducking behind some shrubbery Wednesday and the man told the officer a female relative's python had gone missing, The (Portland) Oregonian reported Thursday.

The man was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and the snake was officially reported missing. However, Wolf said it was found later in the day in its owner's garage.

Wolf said the snake was coiled near a hot water tank and appeared unharmed.
