SIDNEY, Ohio, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- An Ohio man who ordered a gun safe unexpectedly found $425,000 in marijuana bricks inside, police said.

"I've been in law enforcement for 47 years and I've never seen anything like this," Shelby County Sheriff John L. Lenhart said. "It's quite effective if you think about it: wrapped airtight to withstand high temperatures. Drug-sniffing dogs probably couldn't smell it."

Champion Safe Co. in Mexico manufactured the gun safe, and local inmates packaged it and shipped it north, ABC News reported.

Lenhart said somewhere between Mexico and a warehouse in Ohio, the drugs were put in the wrong safe and delivered to the wrong person.

Police said the Ohio man who got the shipment had nothing to do with the drug sale, and was only looking for somewhere to store his guns.

Police said they are looking for a truck driver with Conway Inc., the company that Champion hired to transport 25 to 30 gun safes to Ohio.

But they have not been able to find the driver, ABC News said.

"Not only are we looking for him," Lenhart said, "but the bad guys are, too."
