Cathay Pacific Airways redesigns first class cabins

HONG KONG, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- A Hong Kong airline said it has enhanced its first class suite with the help of a London-based architecture firm.

Toby Smith, general manager product for Cathay Pacific Airways, said the airline's first class cabin, first introduced in 2007, has received improvements including a redesign London-based architects Foster + Partners.

Smith said the cabins have been outfitted with handmade sculptures by artists Maria Lobo and Linda Leviton.

Other improvements include a touch-screen controller for seat adjustments, a more adjustable meal table, cup holders, larger personal closets for passengers and larger space inside the console compartment for smaller personal items.
