BOCA RATON, Fla., July 31 (UPI) -- A Florida police chief said officers investigating a report of heavily armed men in a parking garage turned out to be actors planning a superhero photo shoot.

Boca Raton Police Chief Dan Alexander said on his blog a pair of officers on foot patrol in Mizner Park were approached by concerned citizens who reported seeing four or five people putting on body armor and taking guns out of the trunk of a car on the top floor of a parking garage.

The officers investigated and discovered five men, some of whom were wearing military-style uniforms and carrying various firearms. One of the men had two swords strapped to his back, Alexander said.

The men were ordered to the ground at gunpoint and quickly explained the guns were props and airsoft replicas.

The men told officers they were actors preparing for a photo shoot involving two "superhero" characters and two "terrorist" characters.

Alexander said the men were issued trespass warnings and released.
