No punishments after seven-month probe into police party

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., July 30 (UPI) -- A Florida police department said it has decided not to punish any officers for a party that included a flung high-heel shoe and an offer of "crazy sex."

The Boynton Beach Police Department said it has ended its seven-month investigation into the Dec. 16 party at the local Fraternal Order of Police and has decided not to hand down any punishments, even though officials said they determined Officer Drew Murphy behaved in a manner unbecoming an officer and lied to investigators, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Tuesday.

Police said Detective Troy Raines and his wife, Allison, were leaving the party when Murphy asked them to join him and some others at a restaurant.

Investigators said Allison Raines refused, leading Murphy to ask "What's the matter, you guys don't want to have crazy sex with us?"

Murphy allegedly threw a high-heel show at Allison Raines after she refused the request. The shoe did not connect, and police said they were not able to determine the identity of the shoe's owner.

The Raines' allegedly scuffled with Murphy following the shoe throw.

Police said no punishments have resulted from the probe, although they determined Murphy behaved in a manner unbecoming an officer and lied to investigators when he claimed to have been punished in the face during the struggle.
