HALMSTAD, Sweden, July 25 (UPI) -- Police said a pair of teen girls accused of a restaurant robbery were identified in part thanks to a picture they took of themselves before the crime.

Investigators in Halmstad, Sweden, said two masked girls robbed a local restaurant and threatened staff with a large kitchen knife, and police dogs followed their scent to a home, The Local.se reported Thursday.

Police said they found the ski masks and kitchen knife in the home, as well as two teenage girls. One of the girls had taken a cellphone picture of herself and the other suspect standing in front of a mirror wearing the masks and holding the knife.

One the suspects in the late March robbery was too young to face charges, police said, but the other, a 17-year-old, is due in court Aug. 2.
