The gifts come in a cardboard box designed to double as a baby bed, the Daily Mirror reported Tuesday. In addition to the condoms, the package includes a snowsuit, rompers, a teething toy and other goodies. Advertisement KELA, the Finnish social services agency, gives the box to all pregnant women, and some experts say it is one reason for Finland's low infant mortality rate. "We were delighted to receive the very kind gift of the maternity package from the Finnish government," a spokesman for the duke and duchess of Cambridge said. "It was a very thoughtful gesture and we're very grateful for it. I'm sure the Duke and Duchess will be very interested to see the contents." The duchess is scheduled to have her firstborn child this month. The baby will immediately be third in line to the British throne, whether it is a boy or girl. A KELA spokesman said the agency's baby box has been welcomed around the world: "The timing was perfect that the royal couple are having a baby." Advertisement The royal couple are accepting gifts from individuals and governments, although corporate presents are being returned.
