Whately Police Chief James Sevigne Jr. said the tractor-trailer was parked overnight at the F.L. Roberts truck stop plaza in Whately and the driver returned Sunday night to find the vehicle and its load of fruit missing, The (Greenfield, Mass.) Recorder reported Tuesday. Advertisement Sevigne said the truck had been left unlocked with the key in the ignition. "That's the message we try to get out, any public safety forums that we have, lock your house, lock your cars; it's a common thing these days, people are looking for the easy. Try the door, keys are in there, it makes it an easier target," Sevigne said.
