EAST HAMPTON, N.Y., June 6 (UPI) -- A New York state landscaper put a sign in his front yard offering a $1,000 reward for information on "the low life" who stole plants from his property.

"$1,000 reward for the low life stealing landscape plants from this property," Keyser wrote on a sign displayed in his front yard.

Keyser said he has installed security cameras to keep an eye on his remaining plants.

East Hampton town police said similar thefts are on the rise in the area.

"These guys better hope the cops get them before I do," Keyser said.
