Sixty-six percent said they watched a TV show alone on the main television, 21 percent would watch in bed while a partner slept and 5 percent watched in the bathroom.
To avoid tension with a partner, 41 percent said they would not spoil scenes, 14 percent would feel so guilty about jumping the gun they would confess and 12 percent said they would re-watch and "fake it" with emotion.
Seventy-seven percent of of men ages 18-34 in a relationship said they would stream a TV program before a significant other did, while 57 percent of women ages 18-34 would.
The survey of 2,068 U.S. adults -- of whom 1,358 were married, living with a partner or dating -- was conducted April 24-26. No margin of error was provided.
