FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 8 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said they arrested a man who stole a red Camaro and eluded police with four flat tires for nearly three hours.

Joshua Nadelhoffer, 29, of Jupiter, Fla., allegedly rammed through a parking lot security gate at the Hertz Rent-A-Car parking lot at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport around 4:45 a.m. Monday. Hertz workers said tire strips flattened at least three of the vehicle's tires, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Wednesday.

A police officer spotted the Camaro entering Interstate 95 around 7 a.m. about 15 miles from the airport.

Nadelhoffer allegedly refused to stop until the vehicle spun out of control. He had to be physically removed from the car and placed in handcuffs, police said.

Nadelhoffer, who was charged with grand theft auto and burglary, has been arrested four other times since Feb. 6 on charges including burglary, resisting arrest, disorderly intoxication, driving with a suspended license and defrauding an innkeeper, the newspaper said.
