BRIDGETON, N.J., April 30 (UPI) -- New Jersey police said they arrested a woman accused of snapping a tow truck cable in an attempt to prevent her car from being repossessed.

Bridgeton Police Chief Mark Ott said a Quick Towing employee was repossessing a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica near the Social Security Office just before 12:15 p.m. Monday when the vehicle's owner, Wanda Young, 52, attempted to drive away with the car already hooked to the tow truck's winch, the South Jersey Times, Woodbury, N.J., reported.

Police said the woman attempted to drive her car away three times, and the third attempt snapped the tow cable, causing about $4,000 in damage to the truck.

Young was pulled over a short time later and police said she was still dragging the broken section of tow cable.

Young was charged with criminal mischief and released.
