Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe KILBERRY, Scotland, April 1 (UPI) -- A Scottish couple said snow-related road problems didn't foil their wedding when they received assistance from a tractor and a tow truck. Claire Williamson and Ruairidh Mackay, both 29, of Edinburgh, said they arrived at the remote venue of Crear in the village of Kilberry to find the building had no electrical power. Then they awoke Saturday morning to find a 10-foot snowdrift blocking the road, The Scotsman reported Monday. Advertisement The couple said more than half of their 104 guests were unable to make it to the venue because of the snow. The bride's mother was able to attend with assistance from a tow truck and the officiant of the Humanist ceremony was able to make it -- although more than an hour behind schedule -- after receiving a ride from a tractor owner. "It was candlelight for most of it and during the meal the guests kept their coats on, but a generator meant we could put fairy lights on and a couple of lamps and a blow heater," the bride said. "Then the Jim Jam Ceilidh Band arrived ... so they got everybody up dancing." Advertisement The couple said they are planning to have a second reception for the guests who were unable to attend the ceremony.
