NASHUA, N.H., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire man said he has been reunited with the basset hound he gave up during the break-up of his marriage 10 years ago.

Jamie Carpentier, of Nashua, said he was browsing the Humane Society of Greater Nashua's website recently when he was considering adopting a dog and something struck him about the description of a 13-year-old basset hound named Ginger, WMUR-TV, Manchester, N.H., reported Thursday.

Carpentier said he inquired about the dog and Humane Society workers sent him pictures -- and he quickly recognized as the dog he gave up 10 years earlier.

Carpentier said he went to the society's facility Jan. 21 and decided as soon as she licked his face to make his reunion with Ginger permanent.

The Humane Society said Ginger had been adopted by an elderly couple in 2003.
