Italian slacker gets jail time

BOLOGNA, Italy, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- A 45-year old woman has been sentenced to two years in jail for only putting in six days of work at a public hospital over a nine-year period.

The woman, identified only as Silvia S., was arrested in November 2011 for aggravated fraud at the expense of public entities and for having provided false information in public documentation, the Italian news agency ANSA reported Friday.

She was found to have taken long periods of time off from her job at Sant'Orsola-Malpighi hospital for illnesses and two maternity leaves without having been sick or pregnant, ANSA said.
