Maryland Natural Resources Police said the 45-year-old man, whose name was not released, accidentally shot himself in the leg with a pistol Tuesday while bow hunting in Poolesville's McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area, WTOP.com reported Wednesday. Advertisement Maryland Natural Resources Police Sgt. Brian Albert said it is illegal for hunters to carry guns during bow hunting season. He said the hunter is likely to be charged at the conclusion of an investigation. Police said the man required surgery for his injury, but it was not considered life-threatening.
