COLORADO SPRINGS, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- A real stinker knocked WXRM-TV off the air for many of the Colorado Spring station's viewers for a day -- a skunk that sprayed on the transmitter, staff says.

Station engineers said the skunk got into the transmitter room atop Cheyenne Mountain about 8 p.m. Sunday and burned itself on equipment. The polecat reacted by spraying the transmitter, causing a breaker to trip.

The signal wasn't restored for the station's Dish, DirecTV and over the air viewers until shortly after 8 p.m. Monday, staff said. Comcast cable customers were not affected.
