SPARTANBURG, S.C., Nov. 7 (UPI) -- A 106-year-old South Carolina woman who voted for the very first time in the presidential election said she felt "all right" after casting her ballot.

Gladys Miller of Spartanburg County cast her vote Tuesday at the Swofford Career Center near the Fingerville community after registering to vote only a few weeks ago, WSPA-TV, Spartanburg, reported Wednesday.

Miller, who lives with her niece, said she felt "all right" after voting. Family members said other women in the family have been voting for decades, but this was Miller's first election.

Glenda Ponder, a friend of Miller's, said she convinced the woman to register to vote.

"It makes me feel real good," Ponder said.
