BONDI JUNCTION, Australia, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- An Australian Target store said clothing racks were restocked four times in an hour for the launch of Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli's collection.

The Target store in Bondi Junction said the first hour Cavalli's Designers for Target creations went on sale Wednesday was marked by four rack restockings as floods of customers purchased the clothes, the Sydney Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday.

Target Australia Managing Director Dene Rogers said the buying frenzy also applied to the store's website, which first crashed around 5 a.m. Wednesday and went down again around 9 a.m., staying out of order until about noon.

"As expected, we have seen a fantastic response to the Roberto Cavalli For Target collection on the first day of sales," Rogers said. "Being a limited collection, customers were getting in early to ensure they were able to get the pieces they wanted."
