PARIS, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- A French dating website has put its wares on display in a Paris shop -- 10 men who have signed up to look for a relationship.

The site "Adopte un mec.fr" -- "Adopt a guy" in English -- plans to take the show on the road, The Local.fr reported. The temporary Paris store closes Sept. 21 and other stores will open this fall in Brussels, in Laussane, Switzerland and then in Lyon and Toulouse back in France.

The men for the store were selected from hundreds of volunteers who had signed up on "Adopte un mec." The aim was variety, ranging from a surfer to a geek.

"For once the girls can choose the boys and put them in their shopping basket," said Thomas Pawlawski, the website marketing director. "We use supermarket vocabulary."

Some women seem to enjoy the opportunity.

"We're taking our revenge! For once it's us who has the power to look and choose which one we want," one told the newspaper Le Parisien.
