MORRISVILLE, Vt., Sept. 13 (UPI) -- The owner of a Vermont store said customers have welcomed his recently imposed ban on using pennies in transactions.

Caleb Magoon, owner of Power Play Sports in Morrisville, said he decided to simplify cash transactions at his store by rounding to the nearest nickel, WFFF-TV, Burlington, Vt., reported Thursday.

"It doesn't matter to them really," Magoon said of his customers. "Check transactions, credit cards are the same, they still pay to the cent. On cash transactions, they are getting a few cents back and it saves them a few cents."
