SCHAUMBURG, Ill., June 21 (UPI) -- An Illinois man was charged with defrauding a drug screening test after allegedly handing over toilet water instead of urine, authorities said.

Brian J. Uchwat, 29, of Schaumburg, showed up at the McHenry County Sheriff's Office to take a drug screening test Wednesday as ordered by his probation officer, the Daily Herald, Arlington Heights, Ill., reported.

Authorities said when it came time for Uchwat to take a urine test, though, he provided a sample of water he collected from a toilet.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division was notified of Uchwat's test. He was then arrested and transported to the McHenry County jail.

Court Services Director Phil Dailing said any attempt by a person on probation to tamper with a court-ordered urine test is considered a serious matter.

Authorities did not say when Uchwat is scheduled to appear in court or why he was ordered to have a drug screening in the first place
