Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe ATLANTA, June 12 (UPI) -- Former Atlanta Braves players attending the annual alumni reunion said an imposter who attended the event "did not look like he ever played the game." The former players said the man apparently received an invitation meant for former Braves bullpen coach John Sullivan, who was with the team in 1980 and 1981, and claimed to have played for the Braves in "1986 or 1987," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday. Advertisement Craig Skok, a reliever for the Braves from 1978-1979, said the middle-aged imposter "definitely did not look like he ever played the game." "He was very much out of shape," Skok said. The former players said "Sullivan" admitted to being an imposter when they confronted him and he was gone the following day. Atlanta police said the Braves organization, which declined to comment on the incident, has not contacted them about bringing charges against the man. "He kept us laughing the whole time," Skok said. "You've got to hand it to him. He almost pulled it off." The real John Sullivan, 71, said he was amused to hear about the imposter. Advertisement "That's pretty funny," Sullivan said. "My wife will get a kick out of that."
