LEHMAN, Texas, May 31 (UPI) -- Officials at a Texas high school said they have nine sets of twins set to graduate during the upcoming ceremony.

Administrators at Lehman High School in Kyle said they did not realize how many sets of twins were in the graduating class until they were tallied up by Caitlyn and Kyle Banda, twins who are both on the yearbook staff, the Austin American-Statesman reported Thursday.

"Now I know I'm not going crazy when I see one here, then another over there," said Marty Martinez, the assistant principal over the senior class. "I never really realized the number -- nine."

The school said the number of twins falls short of the world record 13 sets of graduating twins, which was set by a Connecticut high school in 2010.

However, another Connecticut high school may take the record in 2016, when 16 sets of twins are scheduled to graduate.
