MOORHEAD, Minn., May 14 (UPI) -- A herd of deer apparently became disoriented and ran into windows and doors at businesses in Moorhead, Minn., this weekend, police said.

City police said none of the six or so animals actually entered any of the businesses at the Moorhead Center Mall and a nearby sporting goods store in the Saturday morning incident. But one was fatally injured by broken glass when it rammed a window and a second one died after being hit by a minivan and running into a store door, The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead reported.

Glik's manager Nikki Miller said she went to find out what happened after hearing the noise and saw a bloodied deer lying on the ground.

"It was bad," she said. "The police came right away, which is good, because the deer was suffering."

The other deer made their way back into the wild, police said in a release.

City police Sgt. Deric Swenson said one of the dead deer was taken for food and the other was taken to the zoo to feed the wolves.
