CLAUSTHAL-ZELLERFELD, Germany, May 8 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Germany said they spent about three hours freeing a cat that became stuck in a bathroom wall during a construction project.

Clausthal-Zellerfeld Fire Chief Thomas Bremer said the residents of the house could hear the cat meowing Saturday but couldn't locate the feline anywhere in the house, the Goslarsche Zeitung newspaper reported Tuesday.

Bremer said firefighters used an endoscope camera to look inside a newly-installed bathroom wall and spotted the cat's eyes glowing in the dark.

The chief said firefighters removed the bathroom's shower and carefully pried the wall open to free the cat. He said the entire operation took about three hours.
