CHICAGO, April 23 (UPI) -- Police in Chicago said they used a system activated in a stolen iPhone to track down a thief accused of stealing three of the devices.
Chicago police news affairs officer Veejay Zala said the 17-year-old suspect fled on foot after grabbing the phones three children set down while playing outside, the Chicago Tribune reported Monday.
Zala said a sergeant used a tracking system installed on one of the phones to track down the suspect and retrieve the devices.
Police said charges were pending against the teenage suspect.
