Woman finds 476 diamonds in elevator

KRASNOYARSK, Russia, March 30 (UPI) -- Police in Russia said they are trying to find the rightful owner of a package containing nearly 500 diamonds discovered in an elevator.

Investigators said a 34-year-old Krasnoyarsk woman found the package on her way home from work and took the 476 stones to a jeweler, who confirmed they were diamonds, RIA Novosti reported Friday.

The woman took the package to police, who sent the stones to be appraised. Investigators are trying to find the owner, police said.
