BRADENTON, Fla., March 6 (UPI) -- A 90-year-old Florida woman who still teaches water aerobics at the YMCA said her trick is refusing to think of herself as old.

Pat Gorman, 90, who has been working at the YMCA in Bradenton since 1984, said her background in dance and synchronized swimming helped condition her body to always be ready to move, WTSP-TV, St. Petersburg, reported Tuesday.

"When you are used to moving, you don't want to sit too much. I'm used to moving," Gorman said.

The women in Gorman's class said the 45-minute sessions are always enjoyable.

"She is such a vital, interesting person. The fact that she is 90 makes no difference at all, she's just fantastic," said Susan Garrett, 60.

Gorman said she refuses to think of herself as old.

"No one should think about himself or herself as old. Every day is another day you are alive. Enjoy it, do what you can, have as much fun as you can," she said.
