PITTSBURGH, March 4 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania man allegedly robbed a woman of $60 after she got off a bus, then called her twice to ask for a date, authorities say.

Letting his heart get the best of him landed John Jardini, 26, of Carrick in the Allegheny County Jail on a robbery charge, KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh, reported Friday.

The woman contacted police and they were in the process of tracking Jardini down through his phone records when he allegedly assaulted the same woman and her mother outside a store. He was arrested at the scene, KDKA said.

"How could you be that damn stupid, that dumb?" one woman asked the TV station.
